mission
"much more than a pianist, but a musician with a fine mind and enormously promising creative energy."
- New York concert Review

from the director
American Portraits is a multi genre project that I have cultivated over the past several years, which has expanded to include the talents and inspirations of many of my incredible colleagues and friends.
It's mission is to reach diverse audiences across the US through music in the most creative, personal, and compelling ways possible.
The programs are a mixture of famous classical masterworks, music by American composers from the 19th Century to the present, in addition to imaginative arrangements and new works based on specific musical traditions or even the locations I (we) visit. Venues range from traditional concert halls to schools, libraries, art galleries, outdoor spaces or other alternative venues. In addition to this, I’m always documenting through photography and video, the different places we go, focusing not only on the music and behind the scenes of touring, but also highlighting the unique people and places I find along the way. Musical recordings, music videos, a documentary and human-interest web series called “American Portraits” and a photo series are all ongoing parts of this large-scale musical venture.
My goal is to create a unique, social, interactive, fun and accessible experience with each performance, and in turn, to transform that experience into a work of art – a documentary, music video, photo series, musical composition – which can be then enjoyed not only be those who directly participated in or witnessed the project, but by people all over the world via online platforms who wouldn’t normally have access to these experiences.
Imagine you, or your town or your place of business becoming the inspiration for a work of art! All things are possible!
